Started off my Saturday with ensemble practice with Val, Winnie, Cheng Ting, Alvin, Pam and Joleen! I think it's pretty hardcore cause we started practice around 12 ish till like 4 ish? I think we had our lunch at 3 :o That's hardcore okay. To me at least. In addition, I only had 4 hours of sleep. Mad tired. Sigh. Cause I'm not good enough basically. So sad. Working on the decaying/bouncy/bell tone sound that is extremely desirable but seems beyond reach for me :( Cannot give up and won't give up. Hmmm tried putting the pillow over the tuba to get a muted effect to help me use more air? I really didn't know it was hard to play when it's muted, cause I haz no tuba mute. Need to push so much more air :'( Felt like dying hahahahahaha mad lousy.
Had Macs for Lunch nomnomnom! There was 2 of each meals coincidentally. 2 Double Cheeseburgers, 2 McSpicy and 2 Fillet O Fish :D And we combined our Seaweed Shaker Fries, it was so damn good. Hehehehehehehe. We ate by the Koi Pond...... And suddenly a whole troop of ants came by as well. Tsk. Anyways it was a good lunch cause when we resumed practice, everyone sounded louder and better :) It was deduced that we have to eat good food before our performance hahahaha.
Envious of the alumni band playing Phantom of the Opera. Not the version I like but still, it's Phantom of the Opera leh!!! It was my favourite piece back in TK days, like how much I adored the piece Persis. Always wanted to play it cause the version I heard has a trumpet solo in the beginning which is damn nice! How do I put it.... It's very charming? It just sucks you in to listen to the solo. It begins with the Phantom of the Opera melody, following that I think it's another trumpet solo for Music of the Night? Really like this arrangement ;) Can't seem to find that version on youtube though :/ Anyways the alumni sounded good for Phantom of the Opera. The bass is super pro please. So nice. Actually sat in just to listen to them play :)
After locking up, headed to Bedok to meet Arra and Saufi! :) Was super sleepy but I really wanted to meet my bestfriend. It's been too long, seriously. And yeah to meet Sir (lololol cause someone's serving in the police force now) as well. The initial plan was to go to the East Coast Park for dinner near the lagoon but it was pouring really heavily so we headed to Simei for Eighteen Chefs! :D Been wanting to eat there but it was packed the other days during lunch when I came with Dyon and Alvin. So yup finally! Had Baked Rice with Tangy Tomato Sauce with beef slices and mushroom. So yummy. And yeah, it was his treat ;) Awwwwh. So yes, we caught up over food, best way ever. So my 2 friends updated me about their work/A levels/uni applications. Everyone's lives seem so interesting and hectic. Can't believe they're already heading to Uni. Sigh. Hmm. Finally understood the grading thingy for A levels. Oh yes. Met Abi there too! It's been so looooooong.
Wanted to bowl but the 21 year old girl got curfew :( Okay if bowl also I suck so better not to embarrass myself hahahahahaha. So we decided to walk to Mr Teh Tarik at Tampines from Simei. So we listen to the policeman's and trainer's camp stories as we walked! It was a pretty long walk but with great company, it didn't feel so tiring after all :) I think their lives so interesting lah. Mine is so... Mundane. Unfortunately. So we finally lepak at Mr Teh Tarik for a drink and chatted some more over our hot teh tarik. More camp stories! Cannot get over how Arra's camper started crying cause apparently another trainer gave him too much food even though he declined hence he was too full, and how he refused to continue his obstacle cause his shoelace got stuck. Kids nowadays. Tsktsktsk. Saufi and his slenger friend that merajuk. Hahahahaha and he's a guy for goodness sake. Merajuk for what. Hahahahahahaha. Feels good to catch up with old friends indeed, no matter how tired you are. Thank you, you two busy people for spending an evening with me :)
Ending the post with a picture from a set of camwhore shots we took with his phone hohoho.
