journalism is FUN (:

yesterday (29032008) was the jendela kewartawanan that i attended with cikgu shikin, syaf and anehh.



oh oh i met GINA at paya lebar, i alighted there cause i was like earlyy. so sat there until the next train came and boarded that one.



sorry laa GINA nvr talk to you and nvr sat bye...

i just thot it wld be odd cause you were talking to your friends. i like extraa lyddat.

well YOU cld come and talk to me mahh :(

haha.



well syaf was abit late, so me anehh and cikgu boarded the train that she was on. syaf walked her way thru the crowd and met us in the train.

we talked on the way to boon lay...

about alot of stuffs, it was indeed a FUN LONG conversation. (:

cikgu bought us breadfast frm old chang kee... then we took a bus to singapore disovery centre together with the other schools like RGS, HAI SING,....



the whole thing was like interesting, very fun. the reporters are DAMN FUNNY laa. esp that FARID laaa.

first part of the journalism thing was by nazri hadi saparin, his presentation was abt the whole journalism thing, so was soraya's... its basically the how, what, why, when kind of thing....

their experiences were like cool, but i realised that this job is so NOT easy laaa. but it is an adventurous job, indeed it is one interesting one as well.
working for them could be like anytime laaa, like i guess when they have a story to cover they have to go right away, and DEADLINES. its so scary. you dont have the whole day to finish your article. :( the time given can be as short as an hour!!!!

they shared their experiences in aceh, during the tsunami.. and others too...

then we watched a movie in the iWERKS theatre, a definitely different atmosphere if compared to the usual cinemas that we go to. we watched EVEREST, a touching movie!! so sad can.. me and syaf shared the popcorn, anehh ate her candy floss while cikgu ate her hello panda...
had to write notes during the movie!!! cause we were required to write a review aft that... in the dark laaa... its hard for me cause im not really a good multitasker, write notes then watch movie then notes again then movie.... and it went on like that for the whole movie...

the movie was touching... esp when one of the climbers, Rob, died in his sleep after he and his wife, who was 7 mths pregnant, decided on the name for their baby over the phone...

i cannot imagine how his wife felt... oh myy... its so sad. furthermore, his wife wasnt with him when he climbed up everest, they only communicated by phone..

well the others managed their way up despite their setbacks. its so amazing.
the movie was great!

then came the review part, we had ONE hr to finish it. THAT WASNT ENOUGH i tell you.
its so pressurising laaa... oh my, im sooo sorrry syaf and anehh. im so sorry for being so panicky and all..

but kak yani (i tink thats the reporter's name) chose our work after choosing the top 3 reviews... so we are not bad ahhh (: our review was like okay, we cut alot lorr. hehe. but nvm. but i wrote BERTIH GORENG instead of BERTIH JAGUNG... im sorry anehh, im sorry syaf.. we got a ONE MISSED CALL notebook for that, since our review was chosen..

the photo taking part was explain by norman (i think thats the reporter's name), learnt new things frm that. anehh and syaf took the pics.. they're good at that. im not good at that... im sorry again... the pics they took were GOOD (:

our lunch and like a break was provided, it was nasi goreng with some sides and later on fish burger.. YUUMM.

then the whole thing was like ending ):
then questions..
asked hw much they earn...
the starting pay is like 2400.
okay right?

then they said somethg abt kem obor.. they asked who we wanted to interview..
and obviously ME a hady mirza fan said- "HADY"
then that hadi, the reporter one, thot i was referring to him, hahahaha....

learnt pretty alot frm this session, its really fun and exciting eventho theres like pressure...

i think wanne do work attachment with berita harian! it would be a new new experience,
a scaryy one too..

if i get to go for kem obor it would be GREAT. even greater if i get to interview HADY MIRZA!!!!
wheeeeeeeeeee.

i hope to go for this kem obor. it will be a great experience to have!
